History |
Masjid Ibrahim was founded in 2001 in southwest Austin,
an area where no masjid existed previously. Since its
inception, the number of worshippers continues to grow,
especially at Jumua’ah and Isha prayers. This is in part due
to the proximity of several large employers like Intel,
Free-scale Semiconductor and AMD.Currently, it is the only
center where all the Muslims gather in the South of Austin.
We are a Federal non-profit 501(c) (3) tax-exempt
organization (Tax ID: 74-2967063).

Allaah says in Sura Al-Baqara, verse 261:
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allaah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn), it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allaah gives manifold increase to whom HE wills. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His Creatures' needs, All-Knower."
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: If anyone gives as Sadaqa the equivalent of a date from that (earning) earned honestly, for Allah accepts that which is lawful, the Lord would accept it with His Right Hand, and even if it is a date, it would foster in the Hand of the lord, as one of you fosters his colt, till it becomes bigger than a mountain. [Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Zakaat]
